Rotate about a Point or Edge Print

THIS TIP APPLYS TO BEFORE SOLIDWORKS 2008

At times when working on a part or assembly within SolidWorks it helps to rotate the view about a point, vertex, or edge of a part. To get more control over how you rotate your model in 3D space, you can use the rotate about a model point/vertex or edge command. This command is especially useful when you are zoomed into a small area and want to rotate the view.

 

Rotate about a point:

select vertex.gif (9371 bytes)

Simply SLOW double middle mouse button click then hold on the last click on the Vertex you would like to rotate about

 


Rotate about an Edge:

select edge.gif (6406 bytes)

Same as above SLOW double middle mouse button click then hold on the last click on the Edge you would like to rotate about
